The Firecracker Fairy: Booking

The Basic party accommodates up to 10 children. There is a $10 fee for each additional group of up to five children. The performance will include approximately 8 age-appropriate original tunes, like "Mice In the Kitchen" and "The Thinking Cap Waltz," as well as traditional favorites, intermixed with music theory and the introduction of the concept of songwriting, as well as the playing of various instruments along with me. The birthday child will receive a special momento to keep, have special Firecracker Fairy headgear to wear during the show and everyone will have the chance to become an honorary Firecracker after the show during a ceremony with fairy bells and magic fairy dust. The birthday child will also receive a self-produced six song CD of Firecracker Fairy songs to keep, so that the fun never ends.

You get all that is involved in the Basic Party PLUS an additional five or so songs with more theory, more instrument play time AND an opportunity do some silly songwriting. This party is best suited for five and six year olds.

This interactive educational experience combines learning with the power of music. Children will learn basic music theory including, but not limited to basic song structure, rhythms, melodies, changing tempos, instruments and how they are used in a song. The backdrop for the learning is a mix of traditional children's music and engaging original songs that will have them laughing and learning all at the same time. This high energy assembly will have students standing, sitting, singing & dancing. The school will not need any special equipment to accommodate the show. I have my own sound system and props. This show is best suited for pre-school through second grade classes. Rather than require any minimum or maximum number of students, I will work with the school to arrange a format that works best for the students.

In this workshops, kids actually get to write their own group lyrics to familiar childhood melodies. It’s a truly organic process where children participate in the creation of a hook, brainstorming, clustering, & lyric writing. We touch on concepts such as rhymes, iambic pentameter, alliteration, and writing to support your main idea (the hook) which they can apply to their writing at school or at home. We record what we've come up with at the end of the session and I'm usually able to send the mp3 of the song back to the teachers the next day. I've conducted these workshops for kids from third grade through high school.

The Firecracker Fairy sings children's music to the masses! This can include performing and interacting with the crowd on a continuous basis or be broken down into actual 45 minute shows that run on an hourly basis. Inclusion in marketing/scheduling material is a must and I would cross promote the festival on the Firecracker Fairy website as well as send out an announcement about the event/festival to my mailing list. All typical Firecracker Fairy behavior as listed in the previous packages will be on display to include the occasional sprinkling of fairy dust! Minimun of two hours.
